Symptom

When I try to enter the login password into Edge Gateway with a serial connection, I cannot enter it there as the keyboard does not respond.

• AG 10
• AR 10

Solution

In order for you to be able to input data into Edge Gateway with the keyboard, check the settings of the terminal emulator again.

(This is explained by taking the usage of TeraTerm as an example.)       

1. From the setup of TeraTerm, select [ Terminal ].
   
   
   

2. Configure the following 2 settings.

   　・Select "CR+LF" for [ New-line ].

   　・Select the checkbox for [ Local echo ].

   
   
   

3. Click [ OK ] to save the settings.

   

Also, for TeraTerm, the following operations are performed by configuring the line feed code settings.

• CR: Move the cursor to the beginning of the line.
• LF: Move the cursor to the next line.
• CR+LF: Move the cursor to the beginning of the next line.

Also, sending out characters and displaying them on your (local) side at the same time is referred to as "local echo".

If you do not select the checkbox for local echo, characters entered by the keyboard will not be displayed on the screen.
