Question
When registering a new device to remote.it, a HWID will be given to it. When registering the same device again to remote.it, will a different HWID be given to it?
Is a HWID not an ID based on the hardware information (MAC address, etc.) of a device but an ID generated randomly when registering a device to remote.it?
Answer
When registering the same device to remote.it again, a different HWID will be assigned to it each time. Even if the newly registered device has the same Device NAME as the previously registered one and they are the same device, a different Device ID will be assigned to the newly registered one.
*A Device ID and a Hardware ID(HWID) have the same value.
This ID (DeviceID, HardwareID) is a device identification value that indicates the status such as online/offline of a device.
This ID is randomly created when you sign up to remote.it.
