Sending an e-mail when a camera is disconnected from Nx Witness

This recipe explains the settings configured to send an e-mail to a destination you wish when a camera is disconnected from Nx Witness.

Preparation

To enable Nx Witness to send e-mails, you will need to set the e-mail server in advance. Follow the following procedure to set it.

• Configuring the Email Server
  • file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Network%20Optix/client/default/version/help/index.html

*Users need to have an e-mail address valid for the Nx Witness system. (Refer to "Changing User Settings".)

Event setup procedure

Create an event so that Nx Witness will send an e-mail to the administrator when a camera is disconnected from Nx Witness.

1. Right-click the camera, and click [ Camera Rules ].
   
   
   
2. Click [ ADD ].
   
   
   
3. Select an event and action respectively.
   For details, refer to "Using the Event Rules Form".
   
   • EVENT
     When: Camera Disconnected
   • ACTION
     Do: Send email
     to: (Select a destination to which you want to send e-mails.)
     
     
     
4. If you click [ OK ], the event rule will have been set.
