Domain name
A domain name is a character string that specifies a network on the Internet.
As a domain name cannot be duplicated, you will need to submit a pre-application to use it.
Also, in Japan, an organization called jpnic manages domain names.
The following shows the relationship among a host name, domain name and FQDN.
- Host name:A character string that specifies a computer on the network.
- Domain name:A character string that specifies a network on the Internet.
- FQDN:A character string described by combining a host name and a domain name.
